Hard to believe that Summer is on it's way out. Of course we still need to come down a few degrees before it really feels like fall is upon us but Schools in and Marathon Training is in full swing so it's time to get ready for our South Florida Season.

Lakeland South Holiday in is the place to be between the races of the Lakeland Runners Club Aching Quad, 4 race series. 
I will be hosting a lunch with a few sponsors. Please see the attached registration form and send some of your club officers and members to join in this great networking opportunity. We will be meeting for a sandwich buffet at 11 AM with Meeting starting at noon. We have the meeting room for most of the afternoon so there should be plenty of time to share what we know about what we do. believe me this is the best way to learn how to improve your events and deal with the situations that arise while organizing events and your clubs activities.

In 2007, the RRCA developed the Kids Run the Nation Fund to assists running clubs, events, and schools that are interested in implementing or currently have a youth running program. This small grant program will be funded by restricted contributions from RRCA members, individuals, foundations, and corporations. Grants will be awarded on an annual basis through an application and selection process overseen by a volunteer selection committee.

STATE & REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

2009 Championship Bids

States are accepting bids on a "First Come-First Served" basis 2009 Championships. There is no charge for State or Region Championships, however if profits permit, a small donation to your State Rep's fund helps offset out of pocket expenses for awards. All championship courses must have a current USATF certification number. You can find information and verify USATF course certification numbers at this link.

Contact your State Rep to apply for State or Regional Championships. If you are applying to host a Regional Championship, your State Rep will forward your bid to the Southern Region Director for approval.

Our Gatorade contract specifies State & Regional Championship distances 10K or longer and with 400 or more participants may apply for Gatorade Thirst Quencher, coolers and cups not later than twelve weeks prior to the event. You can download a Gatorade application and the related forms from the RRCA website championship page.

You will also find information at the above link regarding special incenatives offered by RRCA Partners; Fuel Belt, Sport Science and Active.com to all RRCA clubs hosting a championship.
